Sonia is a Project Officer with the Asia Pacific Lupus Collaboration (APLC) aprogram, based within the Rheumatology Research Group at Monash University's School of Clinical Sciences. She coordinates the day-to-day delivery of the multinational research program, with responsibility for research governance, ethics and regulatory compliance, collaborative research agreements, and funds administration across participating sites throughout the Asia-Pacific region.

She also serves as secretariat for the program's Steering Committee, supporting communication and collaboration across a geographically distributed network of investigators and clinical partner institutions.

Prior to joining Monash, she worked in research and strategy consulting roles at McKinsey & Company and A.T. Kearney, and holds a Bachelor of Technology in Biotechnology from the Jaypee Institute of Information Technology, India.​
